Frequently Asked Questions |
|
|
| Q:
What will the envelope look like?
The BennyCard should arrive in a marked
envelope with “Do Not Throw Away”
on the front. PLEASE DON’T THROW
IT AWAY! Replacement cards are $10
each. Additional family cards (if requested)
will be mailed separately.
Q: Can I use my
card immediately?
No, the BennyCard will require activation
first. See below in the Debit Card Activation
and Account Information section for how to
activate it.
Q: What if I don't
have an email address?
You will need to file the Debit
Card Purchase Substantiation Form along
with the itemized
receipt (not the credit card slip) each time
you use your BennyCard at a non IIAS Merchant
or each time you use your card for something
other than one of your company's health/dental/vision
co-pay amounts. Failing to do so could cause
your card to be suspended.
Q: Is the Benny
card a credit card?
No, but the BennyCard will be used as a CREDIT
transaction – as no Personal Identification
Number is associated with it
Q: Can I use it
to pay off an old balance?
No, the BennyCard is to be used at the point
of sale. You are not to pay off an old balance
or pay for future expenses. Doing so will
violate the terms of your agreement. |
|
Q:
When I use it up, do I throw it away?
No. DO NOT THROW YOUR BENNYCARD
AWAY WHEN YOU HAVE EXHAUSTED YOUR FUNDS. Retain
your BennyCard and next year, when you re-enroll,
we will load the BennyCard with your new amount.
Q: Can I use it
anywhere?
No, beginning January 1, 2008, grocery stores,
supermarkets and wholesale clubs (stores
with pharmacies inside) that have not installed
the IRS required Inventory Information Approval
System (IIAS), will not be able to accept
the BennyCard. (See IIAS listing for current
retailers). Pharmacy and Mail Order type merchants
followed July 1, 2009. (See 90% Rule listing for current retailers).
The BennyCard should be accepted at most
health care related merchants. If not, you
can still file a manual Claim for Reimbursement
Q: If my balance
is below the cost of the item can I still
use it?
Yes! Know the amount of funds that is on your
card(s) as you “spend down” your
account. If you have $8.93 left on your card(s)
and your prescription is $10.00, then run
the card for $8.93 and pay the difference.
Q: How do I know
my employer's co-pay amounts?
Please refer to your Benefits Department for
detailed information. |
